Emirates Airlines operated a special flight, EK2021, for individuals that have been vaccinated through the national vaccination programme.

The flight was a special flight in order to celebrate the success of the national vaccination programme that has administered around 9 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines to the public.

Over 400 vaccinated passengers were onboard along with Emirates staff and cabin crew that have also been vaccinated.

The flight was taken around the UAE and passed through each Emirate. Over 35,000 Emirates employees have been vaccinated.

All passengers on board were given a 'choose to vaccinate' pin and all received a full course meal.

Travellers had to undergo a rapid PCR test to ensure the safety of all and also received a commemorative certificate on disembarking from the flight.

The proceeds from the flight were donated to the Emirates Airline Foundation, a non-profit charity that supports projects around the world by improving the quality of life for disadvantaged children.
