Abu Dhabi To Host Workshops For Month Of Reading

WAM

In the UAE, March is the Month Of Reading, and to encourage reading among the public, Maktaba at the Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi has organised over 150 workshops throughout the month.

The theme for the month is 'My Family Reads' and focuses on parents instilling their children with a love for reading books.

Various workshops will be available for all ages and will see multiple authors, specialists and more leading the workshops and offering their expertise.

Children can also attend special workshops which will include reading sessions in Arabic and English, as well as artistic workshops that will help cultivate a child's talent by teaching them how to design a book cover for stories.

There will also be sessions for adults that will discuss the importance of a child's reading development. Additional reading sessions will also be held in Spanish, Chinese and Korean. People of Determination will also have workshops that will help provide solutions to reading challenges and how to overcome them.

To mark World Poetry Day, a Khaliji poetry evening will take place. A virtual seminar titled ‘Feminist Literature and Women's Writings in the UAE’ with Maryam Al-Saadi, Nadia Al-Najjar, Nojoom Al-Ghanim and Hamda Khamis will also take place.
