Digital Verification Of Medical Records

WAM

Emirates Airlines and Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has announced that Dubai will implement digital verification of a passenger's medical records relating to COVID-19 testing and vaccination.

The new initiative will link the IT systems with DHA laboratories as well as with Emirates reservations and check-in systems to showcase the passenger's health information regarding the COVID-19 vaccine taken, PCR testing and results, in a secure way.

This will help increase efficiency as well as will encourage safe travel due to limiting the documents needed for verification.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Emirates’ Chairman and Chief Executive, and Awadh Al Ketbi, Director-General of Dubai Health Authority.

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed said, "Dubai is a leading global air transport hub, as well as one of the world’s most progressive cities in the area of e-government services. It is a natural step to combine our capabilities to implement digital verification of COVID-19 medical records, which will also enable contactless document verification at Dubai Airport. This will tremendously improve the traveller experience, as well as the reliability, efficiency and compliance with entry requirements imposed by destinations around the world."
