Arrivals From All Countries Need PCR Test

Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management, headed by His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has announced updates to the travel protocols for passengers coming into Dubai.

Effective from Sunday 31 January, UAE residents, GCC citizens and overseas visitors entering Dubai from all countries, must take a PCR test before their departure. The validity of the PCR test has also been reduced from 96 hours to 72 hours. This applies to passengers coming from all countries. Passengers from countries where COVID-19 is deemed high will also be required to take a further test on arrival in Dubai.

There is no change to the requirements in place of UAE citizens, who are exempt from taking a PCR test before departure for Dubai and are only required to take a test on arrival.

The updates are part of the Committee’s keenness to protect passengers and ease hassles for them without compromising on COVID-19 precautionary measures put in place to safeguard everyone’s health and wellbeing.

The Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management has said that the updated protocols are part of a regular process of revising and optimising precautionary measures based on the latest local, regional and international developments, and are also aimed at enabling the city to continue serving as a global commercial hub and a bridge for travel and trade between the east and west.
