Abu Dhabi City Municipality has announced changes to public beach access hours for the winter months.
Public beaches in the capital will be open to visitors from 7am until sunset, according to the new rule which will come into effect from Thursday, 1 October.
The announcement was made on social media platforms belonging to the Abu Dhabi City Municipality on Wednesday.
Posted in both Arabic and English, the message read: “Dear Visitors, kindly note that Abu Dhabi City Municipality announces changes of swimming hours on Abu Dhabi’s beaches during the Winter. Starting from October 2020, times will be from 7:00 am till sunset.”
An awareness campaign was also recently conducted by the municipality to educate visitors to public parks and beaches in the capital about safety measures to follow.
These included the importance of social distancing and wearing face masks in public parks and beaches of Abu Dhabi.
Beaches in Abu Dhabi were open from 6am until sunset during the summer months.
