Budget airline Wizz Air will officially resume direct flights to and from both Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport (AUH) starting 25 October 2026. The move marks the carrier’s return to the UAE market just over a year after closing its locally based joint-venture operation, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, in September 2025.
Under its restored winter schedule, the airline will operate 32 weekly flights across eight UAE routes, connecting local travellers directly to key European hubs including Budapest in Hungary, Bucharest and Cluj in Romania, Katowice and Krakow in Poland, Sofia in Bulgaria, and Larnaka in Cyprus. Rather than using a local subsidiary, these inbound and outbound routes will be serviced by Wizz Air's core European fleet.
DXB will receive 12 weekly flights split between two major Eastern European capital cities: a daily service connecting to Bucharest, Romania, and a five-times-weekly service to Budapest, Hungary. Meanwhile, AUH will host 20 weekly flights across six European destinations. Services to Budapest and Katowice launch on 25 October, followed by connections to Cluj, Krakow, Sofia, and Larnaka starting 27 October.
