Theme park enthusiasts and Harry Potter fans will soon be able to step straight into the Wizarding World without leaving the country. Miral, in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences, has announced the construction of three new Harry Potter-themed lands at Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi on Yas Island.
Spanning approximately 63,000 square metres inside the climate-controlled theme park, the new zones will recreate three iconic locations from the franchise, Hogwarts Castle, Diagon Alley, and the Forbidden Forest. Construction work is targeted for completion in 2029.
Unlike existing Harry Potter destinations worldwide, the Abu Dhabi attraction will feature bespoke rides developed exclusively for the Yas Island venue.
The wizarding additions form the cornerstone of a massive expansion project at Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi. In total, the project will add around 70,000 square metres of new theme park space, increasing the overall footprint of the indoor park by more than 50%.
Alongside the three Harry Potter zones, the expansion incorporates two DC Comics attractions, the recently opened Kryptonite Collider and Superman Up and Away, a high-thrill flying roller coaster scheduled to complete construction in 2028.
Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of Miral, stated that the expansion marks a significant milestone for Yas Island, aligning with Abu Dhabi's broader tourism and economic diversification strategies.
Simon Robinson, President of Global Experiences and Studio Operations at Warner Bros. Discovery, highlighted that the project reflects the company's commitment to setting new benchmarks for location-based, immersive entertainment.
Currently operating with six immersive lands and more than 30 rides, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi's expansion further cements Yas Island's reputation as a primary leisure hub for UAE residents and international tourists alike.
