His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has launched the start of tunnel works for the Dubai Metro Blue Line.
The tunnelling phase marks a significant step in the project, with large sections of the new line set to run underground. Advanced construction methods are being used to ensure efficiency while minimising disruption.
The Dubai Metro Blue Line will connect several residential and commercial areas and will integrate with Dubai’s existing metro network.
Once completed, the project is expected to improve connectivity, reduce traffic congestion and support the city’s growing population.
The expansion is part of Dubai’s long-term plans to strengthen public transport and promote more sustainable travel options.
