Dubai Police Warn Of Fake Investment Schemes

As part of the #BewareOfFraud campaign, Dubai Police have warned the public about the growing threat of fraudulent investment and trading schemes circulating across digital platforms and social media.

Authorities highlighted a noticeable rise in scams that promote fake investment opportunities through deceptive methods, often luring victims with promises of quick and guaranteed profits.

According to Dubai Police, fraudsters typically target individuals through attractive advertisements or direct messages claiming to offer exclusive investment opportunities or high return trading deals. These schemes rely on unrealistic promises of substantial financial gains within a short time, exploiting people’s desire for fast profit. Victims are then pressured to transfer money urgently or provide personal and financial details through fake links, ultimately leading to financial loss.

Dubai Police stressed that legitimate investment platforms do not guarantee fixed returns or risk free profits, and they do not request urgent payments outside official and regulated channels. The public is urged to verify the licencing and credibility of any investment entity through the relevant authorities in the UAE before proceeding.

Dubai Police urged the public to remain cautious, avoid engaging with misleading advertisements, and refrain from sharing personal or banking information through unverified websites or links. The public is encouraged to report any suspected fraud attempts or suspicious investment offers immediately via the eCrime platform or through official channels. Non-emergency cases can also be reported by calling 901.
