A massive new development in Dubai's futuristic mode of transportation is here! His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, unveiled a new metro line, that will pass through 15 key strategic areas across the city.
The Gold Line project is estimated at Dhs 34 billion, and will increase the length of the Dubai Metro network by 35%. The project is scheduled for completion on 9 September, 2032.
Dubai Metro Gold Line will be the largest transport project in Dubai's history and the first fully integrated underground route in the emirate. Spanning 42 kilometres, the project will cover 18 stations, and boast an advanced tunnel network, twice the size of the current Dubai Metro tunnels.
The Gold Line will extend across 15 strategic locations from Al Gubaiba to Jumeirah Golf Estates, connecting with the red and green lines of Dubai Metro. Once completed, the new metro line will serve 465,000 passengers daily. The project will also support more than 55 major real estate developments currently under construction.
