His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Announces Dhs 1 Billion For Dubai’s Business Sector

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, approved a Dhs 1 billion support package for Dubai’s business sector.

The set of economic incentives will be implemented over a period of three to six months starting 1 April 2026. The package is meant to reduce financial pressure on businesses and individuals across sectors.

The package includes the following measures:

  • Government fees will be deferred for three months in some cases.
  • Hotels can postpone paying 100% of sales fees and Tourism Dirham for three months to improve liquidity.
  • Customs data grace periods will be extended from 30 days to 90 days, with scope for further extension if tax rules are followed.
  • Dubai will simplify residency permit issuance and renewals to make it easier for talent to live and work in the emirate.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan said, “Under the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, and with the determination of its people and an open, inclusive society, the UAE is well-positioned for a better future.”

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan emphasised that the UAE has established a global benchmark for cities that is built upon a clear vision and sound policy. Dubai has earned a reputation for credibility, transparency, and trust among businesses and investors worldwide, and stands ready to meet any challenge through the determination of its people and the strength of its inclusive society.”

The Council also approved the Virtual Warehouses Initiative, which aims to facilitate temporary import procedures to Dubai, and an empowerment strategy to improve the financial stability of Emirati families.

A Health and Safety Strategy in Workers' Housing was also announced, to improve the quality of their working and housing conditions.
