His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of Dubai Executive Council and Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), has announced that a new university will be established in Dubai. The establishment of this university will be made possible through a charitable grant agreement signed between MBRGI and Sobha Realty.
The charitable grant agreement is part of the Mothers' Endowment campaign, which was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to honour mothers by creating a Dhs 1 billion endowment fund that will support the education of millions of people around the world.
Under the terms of the agreement, Sobha Realty will undertake the construction and development of a university campus building in Dubai at a cost of Dhs 400 million, which when completed, will be handed to MBRGI. This contribution represents one of the largest charity donations made in the UAE.
The proposed endowment university will provide additional options for higher education in Dubai, for both domestic and international students, in a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
