Things To Do This Weekend 5 To 7 December

It seems only a few days since we were enjoying the last weekend and that this next one has come about very quickly indeed. Well it hasn't, it is just that, as we all know, the last weekend was long one. Even though we are back to normal length weekends, it doesn't mean it is any quieter or calmer, there is a heap of stuff to keep you busy with friends and family. It's Sevens weekend in Dubai, the 50th one in fact, and as well as the big rugby event, there is comedy, concerts, fun run and fitness events for all to visit. The region’s largest cultural festival is returning for its eighth edition in December with a brand-new roll call of artists from around the world. Get ready for two days and three nights of SOLE DXB, a celebration of everything from fashion and music to art and sport. Entry starts at Dhs 295.

Dubai Muscle Show 2019

Returning for its second edition, the show features heavyweight stars like eight-time Mr Olympia winner Ronnie Coleman and seven-time Mr Olympia winner Phil Heath. Visitors can expect to receive advices on bodybuilding from the experts. Entry starts at Dhs 30.

All fitness enthusiasts, beginners or seasoned ones, this weekend save the date to attend this ultimate event, Dubai Active. Featuring unlimited free fitness classes from yoga and cycling to strength training, along with talks from nutritionists. There is also a chance to meet and greet international fitness stars such as Kayla Itsines and Kelsey Wells. Indulge in a little retail therapy as there will be huge discounts by the major activewear and wellness brands. Entry starts at Dhs 50.

Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens

The Rugby Sevens is one of the most anticipated events on Dubai’s sporting calendar that witnesses top rugby teams from around the world go head-to-head over three days of nail-biting competition, along with some fantastic entertainment and food options for all visitors. This year Grammy-winner and pop sensation Kylie Minogue will perform live on 6 December, marking the event’s 50th anniversary. Entry is free on 5 December, for 6 and 7 December, entry starts at Dhs 400.

Laughter Nights With Abhishek Upmanyu

The popular Indian Comedian Abhishek Upmanyu is back with a brand new act to keep fans entertained. The show is open to guests aged 15 and over. Expect to be in stitches when he takes to the stage and shares some hysterical observations on day to day life. Entry starts at Dhs 75.

Lamhe: Melodious Golden Eras

A Mumbai based orchestra is coming to Dubai to bring songs from the golden era of Indian cinema to life. Singers Anil Bajpal, Rana Chatterjee and Neelima Gokhale will emulate legendary Indian star singers such as Lata Mangeshkar, to recreate a soulful night with songs from classic Bollywood movies. The time is perfect for all sorts of outdoor activities, and this weekend you can join the free to attend Cigna Park Run at Kite Beach. The untimed race aims to promote fitness and wellbeing, and invites everyone to participate in it. The run starts at 7.45am.
