The Emirates Airline Festival of Literature 2017, now in its ninth year, will be held over nine days from 3rd to 11th March, during the UAE’s 2017 Month of Reading. The cast of authors at the ever-popular event include first-time guests Sana Amanat, the co-creator of Marvel’s Pakistani-American superhero, Kamala Khan (Ms. Marvel), 2015 Great British Bake-Off Winner Nadiya Hussain, creator of the popular Emirati animated television series Freej, Mohammed Saeed Harib, entrepreneur Jo Malone, crime writer Kathy Reichs, whose books have been adapted into the hit television series Bones, renowned children’s author Tanya Landman (Buffalo Soldier, Hell and High Water), Kuwaiti writer Bothayna Wail Al Essa (Map of Wondering, I Grew up and Forgot to Forget) and International television presenter Alan Titchmarsh.

Book lovers’ quiz night
Fingers on your buzzers, quizzers; do you know your Dickens from your Austen? The Emirates Literature Foundation presents the 2017 edition of the Book Lovers’ Quiz Night, held in association with the World Trade Club. This is your chance to pit your literary wits against the book lovers of the UAE. Join them for an evening of fun and food and plenty of exercise for those little grey cells.
The Emirates Airline Festival of Literature is the Middle East’s largest celebration of the written and spoken word. In nine short years the Festival has grown into the UAE’s premier literary festival, hosting international and regional writers, poets, thinkers and speakers from around the world. The 2017 Festival will be held from 3rd to 11th March and will see 160 authors from more than 30 countries conducting 250 sessions.
