Minimum Speed Limit Fines Applicable From May

WAM

As announced in March, the minimum speed limit in Abu Dhabi will take effect from 1 May.

The change has been made on Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Road in Abu Dhabi, which begins from where Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road ends in Seih Shuaib, located on the Dubai - Abu Dhabi border.

The minimum speed limit has been set at 120km/h for the first two lanes from the left side, with a maximum speed limit of 140 km/h.

The minimum speed limit does not apply to the third lane, which is used by heavy vehicles.

Fines of Dhs 400 are applicable to drivers that do not follow the minimum speed limit.
