Dubai Ranked The Cleanest City In The World

According to the Global Power City Index (GCPI), Dubai has ranked, for the third consecutive year, the cleanest city in the world.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, shared the announcement with a tweet posted on Twitter, which read, "Dubai is the cleanest city in the world, according to the Global Cities Strength Index issued by the Mori Memorial Foundation in Japan for the last 3 years. Cleanliness is a civilisation.. Cleanliness is a culture.. Cleanliness is part of faith.. Dubai is the safest city in the world..the cleanest in the world..and the most beautiful, God willing..let us keep it safe, stable and prosperous."

The GCPI ranks the global competition between major cities on their power to attract people, capital and companies from around the world.

The rankings are done on the basis of six functions,

  • Cultural interaction
  • Livability
  • Environment 
  • Accessibility
