Following the agreement made in September 2022 between Oman and Etihad Rail Company, the developer and operator of the UAE-Oman Rail Network, while His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, was on a visit to Oman, a further agreement has been signed with Mubadala Investment Company, an investor in Abu Dhabi, to help in the development of the railway network.

The move will take the plan a step closer to the development of the 303km railway track between Abu Dhabi and Sohar in Oman.

The network is set to provide safe and fast passenger and freight services around the UAE as well as in Oman.

Passenger trains will run up to 200km per hour, making a journey between Abu Dhabi and Sohar of one hour and forty minutes.
