159 beggars were arrested in Abu Dhabi from 6 November to 12 December by the Abu Dhabi Police.
As beggars use fraudulent stories to gain the sympathy of individuals to take money, the public is advised not to believe the stories.
The Police will continue to stop beggars from begging on streets, at markets and outside places of worship.
Individuals are advised to make donations through official institutions and charities.
