All parking machines in Abu Dhabi will turn to a 5G smart system, as announced by the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC).
Paper parking tickets will be phased out and replaced with e-tickets.
The parking machines will be redistributed based on the use in each area, with over 1,200 parking machines installed and the initiative completed by the end of the year.
The use of the parking machines will help in managing public parking areas via a smart digitally integrated network that is linked directly to the Central Parking Management System.
E-tickets can be issued by selecting the parking category, vehicle information, parking duration and preferred payment method including Mawaqif cards, cash, credit or debit cards on the digital screens.
