The number of employees registered to work in the private sector in the UAE by end of June 2022 has increased by 9% against the same period last year to 5.4 million.
According to data issued by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE), a total number of 537,974 new work permits were issued over the three months of April, May and June 2022, an increase in of 27% compared to April to June 2021.
Another sign of the strong labour market is the number of cancelled work permits in the second quarter of 2022, decreased by 8% compared to quarter two of 2021.
