New Dhs 5 And Dhs 10 Notes Issued

WAM

The Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) has launched two new banknotes, Dhs 5 and Dhs 10, made out of polymer paper.

The notes have been released after the success of the Dhs 50 note, launched for the UAE's 50th jubilee.

The Dhs 5 note as well as the Dhs 10 banknotes will have the same colour as the current notes in circulation to avoid confusion.

The front side of the Dhs 5 note will feature the Ajman Fort, while the back will display the Dhayah Fort in Ras Al Khaimah.

The Dhs 10 note will have a picture of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi on the front and the Khorfakkan amphitheatre in Sharjah on the back.

The banknotes, similar to the Dhs 50 note, will have additional security features and will reduce counterfeit currency.

The notes will also mention the denominations of the notes in Braille to help individuals that are visually impaired identify notes with ease.

The Dhs 10 note is already in circulation with the Dhs 5 note available from 26 April.

The current notes will remain in circulation along with the polymer notes.
