Natural History Museum To Open In 2025

The Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi along with Miral has announced that the Natural History Museum in Abu Dhabi is set to open to the public in 2025.

The museum is currently under construction and will feature rare species from history including 'Stan' a 39-foot long Tyrannosaurus Rex, one of the most well-preserved fossils from the Late Cretaceous Period.

The 67 million-year-old dinosaur will help in contributing towards research and will be taken care of by experts.

Located at Saadiyat Cultural District, the museum will offer immersive displays, curated collections and will take visitors on a journey to the beginning of time to the Earth's formation as well as will focus on the history of life on our planet.

A scientific research facility will also be stationed at the museum and will undertake studies in areas including zoology, palaeontology, marine biology, molecular research and earth sciences.

Mecanoo, the lead architect has designed the museum to mimic natural rock formations with geometry, water and vegetation integrated into the design as well.
