Sheikh Mohammed Launches Initiative To Provide Food To Those Most In Need During Ramadan

A new Ramadan initiative has been launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The initiative called '10 Million Meals' asks residents that are able and willing, to donate a meal or food parcel to be passed to people in need. The initiative aims to help individual and families in particular who have been adversely affected by the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic.

The campaign will be led by the wife of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed, Her Highness Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of UAE Food Bank.

In a message on his official Twitter page, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed launched the initiative and said, “Today, we launched a humanitarian campaign to provide 10 million meals or food parcels to communities affected by the coronavirus outbreak in the UAE. Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum is the best person to lead this campaign during the Holy Month of Ramadan.”

Those wanting to get involved and show support can either:

  • make a donation through a dedicated web site 
  • make a donation through SMS
  • make a donation through bank transfer,
  • make a donation of actual food at a collection point.
