The General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat urged residents in rain-affected areas to perform Friday prayers at home. The directive comes as adverse weather conditions prevail in the UAE.

Authorities urge worshippers to pray at home, and have also instructed imams to announce the guidance through loudspeakers immediately after the call to prayer.

The measures aim to ensure the safety of worshippers while maintaining flexibility in religious practices during challenging weather.

The UAE has been witnessing unstable weather since the start of this week and forecasters warn that conditions may worsen. According to the NCM, the most severe conditions are expected from Thursday, 26 March into Friday, 27 March, bringing heavy rain, strong winds and thunder.

NCM is monitoring the situation continuously and the Ministry of Interior urged the public to stay away from flooded areas and valleys. Authorities have warned drivers of strict fines for unsafe driving in rainy weather. The Ministry of Interior has also released a number of fines, going up to Dhs 2,000, for those who fail to follow the rules.
