The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) announced the closure of 230 social media accounts during the past year, for illegally promoting domestic worker recruitment services.
The measure was taken after it was established that the owners of these accounts had not obtained the necessary licences from the Ministry and were not affiliated with any licensed recruitment offices authorised to practise the activity of recruiting.
The Ministry confirmed that it closely monitors domestic worker recruitment agencies through both on-site inspections and digital systems to protect everyone’s legal rights.
MoHRE urges everyone to report any negative practices or misleading advertisements on social media promoting such services by contacting 600590000.
The Ministry also warned that employers who use unlicensed domestic worker recruitment offices may face legal penalties and lose their legal rights. It added that failing to follow required procedures, such as medical tests and background checks, can create serious risks for families.
It added that licensed domestic worker recruitment offices in the UAE are distinguished by clear service quality standards and operate in accordance with defined terms and conditions.
