The Ministry of Education (MoE) has announced that registration for public schools for the 2026-27 academic year will be open from Monday, 9 February, and will run until 6 March.

Emirati citizens and eligible students can register during this period. MoE emphasised the importance of timely registration to ensure schools are fully ready for the start of the next academic year. Early enrolment enables the ministry to plan student distribution according to geographical catchment areas, allocate staff, textbooks, and transportation, thereby ensuring a seamless start from day one.

Registration Policy

• Children born between 1 January and 31 December 2022, who turn four by 31 December of the enrolment year, will be eligible for Kindergarten 1 (KG-1)

• Children born between 1 January and 31 December 2021, who turn five by 31 December of the enrolment year, will be eligible for Kindergarten 2 (KG-2)

• Children born between 1 January and 31 December 2020, who turn six by 31 December of the enrolment year, are eligible for Grade 1

• As for children who do not meet the 2025–26 registration requirements because their birth date falls between 1 September and 31 December 2021, parents will be given the option to enrol them in Kindergarten 1 (KG-1) or Kindergarten 2 (KG-2).

Registration will cover four student categories from Kindergarten to Grade 12. This includes new students, transfers from private schools or institutes to public schools, students coming from schools abroad, and transfers between public schools.

Parents can submit registration applications via MoE’s official website or the UAE MOE smart app.
