Naomi Osaka Will Return To Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships

The Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has announced big news for all tennis fans out there. Former World No.1 Naomi Osaka will return to the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships. 

After taking a 15-month break from competitive play for personal reasons, the Japanese tennis sensation, a four-time major champion, made a remarkable comeback. On 1 January, she returned to action at the Brisbane International and Australian Open before participating in the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open and Qatar Open. 

As for the championships, Naomi Osaka will be accompanied by top female players in the world who have registered to participate in the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) 1000 tournament. World No.1 Iga Swiatek, two-time Australian Open winner Aryna Sabalenka and 2023 US Open winner Coco Gauff will feature alongside Osaka at the 24th edition of the WTA Tour tournament. 

The Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championship is taking place from 18 February to 2 March 2024 at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium in Garhoud. The women's tournament will be held from 18 to 24 February, followed by the 32nd edition of the ATP 500 men's championships tournament, taking place from 26 February to 2 March. The ATP 500 title is the the fourth highest tier among annual men's tennis tournaments following the Grand Slam events, ATP Finals, and ATP Masters 1000. 

And for the men's championships, defending champion Daniil Medvedev will make a comeback to defend his ATP 500 title alongside last year's runner-up, Andrey Rublev, and the 2017 champion, Andy Murray.
