You Can Now Send Money Via Botim, Here’s How

WAM

Botim, one of the UAE's most popular apps, has rolled out a groundbreaking feature, instant money transfers! This feature comes as part of the collaboration between Botim, owned by Astra Tech, and Al Etihad Payments (AEP), a subsidiary of the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE). Together, they've launched Aani, an advanced instant payment platform. Aani enables secure and seamless digital payments 24x7, simplifying transactions by allowing instant fund transfers using recipients' mobile numbers, emails, or QR codes. This integration is available on the PayBy-powered Botim app, making it the first fintech platform to offer AEP's Aani solution.

This service introduces instant and secure money transfers between phone numbers, revolutionising the fintech landscape nationwide.

Key features of Aani include:

  • Proxy Payments, QR-code-based payments, Request to Pay, and Split Bills.
  • Facilitates secure real-time account-to-account payments within the UAE.
  • Initial phase enables instant transfers from wallets or bank accounts to any participating bank account using mobile numbers as identifiers.
  • Future enhancements include QR code-based payments, direct debits, and e-cheques.

Users can activate Aani on Botim via three simple steps:

  1. Visit the ‘Botim Money’ page.
  2. Click on ‘Send Money via Aani.’
  3. Click on ‘Activate now.’

Once activated, Aani will be linked to the user’s Botim Pay wallet. This enables users to send or receive money directly into any recipient’s bank account. Users can send and receive money from anyone who has also activated Aani, regardless of the platform they are using. If the recipient does not have Aani activated, Botim will send the money as a regular local transfer into their wallet.
