As part of the Dubai Social Agenda 33, initiated by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, a significant step has been taken to enhance the well-being of Emirati retirees. The Dubai Police General Command and Dubai's Department of Economy and Tourism, represented by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for Small and Medium Enterprises (Dubai SME), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch the 'Dubai Retiree Projects Support' program.

Aligned with the theme 'Family: The Foundation of Our Nation', the program aims to provide Emirati retirees in Dubai with various benefits and incentives. These include priority assignment to government projects, financial support for their future efforts, a five-year exemption from service fees, and consultation support to ensure the success of their projects.

Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police and Member of the Higher Committee for Development and Citizens Affairs in Dubai with Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director-General of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, signed the MoU. This collaboration reflects efforts to ensure the mental, social, and financial stability of retirees and employees approaching retirement.

The 'Dubai Retiree Projects Support' program under the Higher Committee for Development and Citizens Affairs aims to empower retirees and those approaching retirement by supporting their projects through the Mohammed bin Rashid Fund for SMEs. This initiative is in line with the broader goals of Dubai Social Agenda 33, aiming to transform Dubai into a hub for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Targeting two groups, existing retirees and employees nearing retirement, the program seeks to leverage their expertise to contribute to Dubai's ongoing development. It includes the establishment of a council for retirees to facilitate communication, providing additional job opportunities for retirees and those approaching retirement. It not only enhances their financial stability but also taps into their capabilities and expertise through engagement in SMEs.

To benefit from the services offered by the program, retired Dubai citizens and those approaching retirement can apply through Dubai SME.
