Visit Dubai

Dubai's major road, Sheikh Zayed Road, is scheduled for closure this weekend on 26 November, from 3am to 9.30am for Dubai Run. It marks the second instance this month when this bustling route will be off-limits to drivers. Additionally, service roads will be closed starting from 8pm on 25 November.

The Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC) has officially announced this information on their social media channels. They recommend alternative routes such as Al Wasl Street, Al Khail Road, Al Meydan Street, Al Asayel Street, 2nd Zaa'beel Street, and Al Hadiqa Street for those seeking to navigate the area during the specified road closure from 3am to 9.30am on 26 November. Planning ahead is advisable for anyone with travel plans during this period.

Moreover, for those intending to participate in the event or for any other purpose, the Dubai Metro will remain a convenient transportation option. Public transport services will continue to operate, shuttling customers along the route. On the day of the event, the metro will commence operations from 3.30am, aligning with the race start at 6.30am.

As for Dubai Run, it's returning for its fifth edition as part of DFC. Over 200,000 participants are anticipated to gather for a memorable run. People of all ages and fitness levels, regardless of their abilities, can now sign up and reserve their place in this grand citywide event dedicated to health, fitness, and unity. The free run is presented by Mai Dubai and endorsed by Sun and Sand Sports.

You have the option to choose between two run routes, both commencing from Sheikh Zayed Road. The 5km Downtown Family route is ideal for families and runners of all abilities, starting near the Museum of the Future and passing by Dubai's famous landmarks such as Dubai Opera, Dubai Mall, and Burj Khalifa. On the other hand, if you're a more experienced runner, you can take on the 10km Sheikh Zayed Road route, which runs from Sheikh Zayed Road to Dubai Canal before circling back and finishing near Al Mustaqbal Street, close to Dubai International Financial Centre.
