Yas Marina Circuit Is Preparing To Host 15th Edition Of Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Here’s How

Abu Dhabi is all set to get fast and furious as the 15th edition of the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix takes centre stage at Yas Marina Circuit. The thrilling finale of the 2023 F1 season is scheduled to unfold in Abu Dhabi from 23 to 26 November. Yas Marina Circuit is abuzz with preparations, ensuring visitors experience the ultimate thrill during the four-day event.

In preparation for the fans and an anticipated global TV audience exceeding 100 million, a committed team of cleaning and maintenance specialists, painters, gardeners, and skilled technical experts have been working tirelessly around the clock. Their efforts focus on enhancing the 5.28km track, grandstands, fan zones, hospitality spaces, and landscaped areas at Yas Marina Circuit to ensure it looks its best during the upcoming event.

Maintenance Of New Grandstands 

Ahead of this year's extended four-day weekend on Yas Island, a dedicated team of cleaners is assigned the crucial task of eliminating dust from the existing and remarkable new grandstands. Armed with high-pressure hoses, the team will clean the circuit's 228 canopies, investing 6,920 hours in continuous cleaning efforts. This initiative will ensure the venue is impeccably clean and ready to welcome spectators.

Installation Of New LED Lighting System 

Recently installed for the current year, experts have been diligently configuring the circuit's cutting-edge LED lighting system. This advanced system boasts a 34% increase in efficiency, resulting in a 24% reduction in year-round electricity consumption and an annual saving of 30% in carbon emissions for all operations at Yas Marina Circuit.

Flower Plantation 

Yas Marina Circuit's expansive 88.4 acres of landscaped spaces have received detailed care, with gardeners tending to the pruning and planting of 2.52 acres of seasonal flowers and petunias. Additionally, over 1,750 diverse types of foliage, along with 886 varieties of palms and 529 potted plants, have been strategically placed to infuse the venue with a vibrant natural palette and delightful, fragrant aroma of flowers.

Inspection Of The Circuit 

Teams of highly skilled technicians and safety experts are conducting thorough inspections of every aspect of the circuit, implementing intensive procedures to guarantee the safety of drivers, teams, and spectators witnessing the F1 action unfold. The circuit's logistics team has been planning and working to ready 227 rooms with over 3,000 pieces of furniture, fittings, or equipment.
