Travel experts at UK's Travelbag have announced the best winter sun destinations in the world, and Dubai has bagged the third spot.
Dubai came third, behind Santiago in Chile and Cape Town in South Africa, after the travel website looked at the average temperature, rainfall and sunlight hours for winter. While the city's winter months coincide with those in the UK, they offer much warmer conditions. With an average temperature of 24.6°C during this time, it ranks among the most enjoyable winter destinations, far more pleasant than the often scorching temperatures that can soar above 40°C during summer months.
Besides this, Dubai earned a top spot for having the best attractions with an impressive rating of 4.5 out of 5. Dubai offers a diverse range of experiences for all types of travellers, whether you're into thrilling activities like kitesurfing and jet-skiing at its beautiful beaches, taking in the breathtaking views from the iconic Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building, or embarking on adventurous desert excursions with dune buggy rides. This city has something to captivate every kind of traveller.
Travelbag also announced the sunniest winter destinations, and with 9-average hours of sunlight a day, Abu Dhabi bagged the third spot, and Dubai featured in 4th place thanks to its 8.75 average hours of sunlight a day. South Africa's Cape Town bagged first spot, followed by Chile’s Santiago.
