UAE To Develop Policy To Enhance Women's Health

WAM

The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has announced plans to develop a national policy to enhance women's health.

Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, the policy aims to provide physical and psychological healthcare services for women, targeting health needs throughout their lives.

The new policy will be created, based on core values including providing quality health services to women, and ensuring holistic care is received.

Dr Lubna Al Shaali, Director of Public Health Policy Department, mentioned that the policy will be crafted to align with the directives of the UAE government, and the best practices from around the world.

MoHAP hosted a workshop on Emirati Women's Day on 28 August, along with health authorities, officials, and health education experts, to promote health and improve preventative services for women. During the workshop, the health services for women were assessed, and local and global statistics were analysed, to find ways to develop them further.
