Rainfall Expected In The UAE

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has announced that rain, with thunder and lightning, is expected in Al Dhafra in Abu Dhabi and parts of the UAE.

The change in the weather is predicted from Wednesday, 9 August to Saturday, 12 August. 

The weather fluctuations are due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone, where winds from the Northern and Southern hemispheres come together, leading to rainfall and thunderstorms.

Humidity is expected to rise, with moderate to strong winds predicted in the country. Visibility will be affected by the wind blowing dust and sand.

On Wednesday, 9 August, temperatures of highs of 43ºC in Abu Dhabi and Dubai is expected, with lows of 32ºC in Abu Dhabi and 33ºC in Dubai. Cloudy weather and rain is predicted in Al Ain and Fujairah, with temperatures hitting highs and lows of 45ºC and 33ºC in Al Ain, and 35ºC and 30ºC in Fujairah. 

Sunny weather in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and cloudy skies with rain in Al Ain and Fujairah will continue on Thursday, 10 August. Temperatures are predicted to reach highs and lows of 47ºC and 35ºC in Abu Dhabi, 45ºC and 36ºC in Dubai, 48ºC  and 35ºC in Al Ain and 34ºC and 31ºC in Fujairah.

On Friday, 11 August, temperatures will hit highs and lows of 47ºC and 36ºC in Abu Dhabi and 44ºC and 31ºC in Dubai, with sunny weather expected. Cloudy skies with rain is predicted in Al Ain and Fujairah, with temperatures hitting highs and lows of 46ºC and 35ºC in Al Ain and 33ºC and 31ºC in Fujairah. 

Partly cloudy skies are expected on Saturday, 12 August in Al Ain and Fujairah, with sunny weather seen in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Temperatures will reach highs and lows of 46ºC and 36ºC in Abu Dhabi, 44ºC and 32ºC in Dubai, 46ºC and 34ºC in Al Ain, and 33ºC and 30ºC in Fujairah.
