His Highness Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler’s Representative, passed away on Thursday, 27 July.
The late Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was the brother of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.
Born in 1965, His Highness Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was the son of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and was appointed Abu Dhabi Ruler’s Representative in 2010.
His Highness Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was also a former member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.
The Presidential Court released a statement saying, "In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. With hearts faithful to God's decree and destiny, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan mourns his late brother, His Highness Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Representative of the Ruler of Abu Dhabi, who passed away today."
A three-day mourning period has been declared, where flags will be flown at half-mast in the UAE from Thursday, 27 July to Saturday, 29 July.
