Sharjah Taxi has announced that testing for the first electric vehicles has begun at Sharjah International Airport.
The electric vehicles by Skywell are an eco-friendly and safe mode of transportation and contribute to reducing the harmful carbon emissions emitted.
The aim of the testing phase is to achieve carbon-free public transportation by 2050 and is in partnership with Osool Transport Solutions, which provides sustainable and environmental transport solutions.
Started in early June, the luxury fleet will be assessed on the global comfort, safety, and security standards.
Sharjah Taxi will also expand the number of electric charging stations in the city, as the number of electric vehicles increases.
Khaled Al Kindi, Acting General Manager of Osool Transport Solutions, said, "This vehicle aligns with our commitment to providing environmentally friendly transportation and reflects our dedication to sustainability and environmental preservation."
