During the first half of the year, 4,791 volunteers have joined in as part of the 'An Hour with the Cleaning Worker' campaign, launched by Dubai Municipality.
The campaign saw the volunteers including assist workers in their tasks, by collecting waste from beaches, markets, commercial, industrial, residential and desert areas.
Over 9.4 million tons of trash were collected from these areas, and 70% of the waste was recycled.
The year-long campaign encourages the community to dedicate their time to charitable causes, while also contributing to taking care of the environment.
