Emiratisation Targets Expanded In The UAE

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has announced that private sector companies with a workforce of 20 to 49 employees in specific fields, have to follow Emiratisation targets.

In 2024, one UAE citizen needs to be hired, with another in 2025.

Dhs 96,000 fine will be imposed on the companies in January 2025 for not complying with the decision in 2024, and Dhs 108,000 for non-compliance in 2025, will be received in January 2026.

If an Emirati leaves the company, a replacement must be hired within two months or pay the fine if the employee numbers are reduced.

  • Financial and insurance activities
  • Real estate
  • Professional and technical activities
  • Administrative and support services
  • Arts and entertainment
  • Mining and quarrying
  • Transformative industries
  • Education
  • Healthcare and social work
  • Construction
  • Wholesale and retail
  • Transportation and warehousing
  • Hospitality and residency services
