The Green Planet, the tropical rainforest with 3,000 animals and plants, has launched a new experience where visitors can snorkel with Cichlid.
The new experience offers visitors the opportunity to swim among the fish, as well as feed the species.
Home to over 2,000 African Cichlid fish, it is the largest freshwater cichlid aquarium in the world.
Prices for the experience are set at Dhs 230 per person, and for Dhs 15, guests can also feed the fish from the surface.
The African Cichlid fish are one of the most unique marine species in the world, as they range in size and colour. With a life expectancy of 15 years, the species can change colour throughout their lifetime and are present in almost all freshwater bodies globally.
With over 1,350 species of cichlid fish, the marine animals are critical in controlling algae growth.
