Dubai International Expects Busy Travel Period

A busy travel period is expected, as passengers make journeys for the Hajj pilgrimage, come in and leave for the Eid Al Adha holidays and the start of the school summer break.

As a result, Dubai International is set to welcome 3.5 million passengers from Tuesday, 20 June to Monday, 3 July.

Average daily traffic is expected at 252,000 passengers. Saturday, 24 June will see the busiest day, as over 100,000 passengers depart.

As passengers return from the Eid Al Adha holiday, over 305,000 arrivals are predicted on Sunday, 2 July.

Dubai Airports has issued guidelines for passengers to ensure they arrive on time for their flights.

  • Passengers travelling by Emirates can use home, early and self-check-in options.
  • Passengers travelling by flydubai are advised to arrive four hours before the flight departs.
  • Those flying with other airlines, should arrive three hours prior.
  • Families with children aged 12 years old and over can use the Smart Gates at passport controls.

While picking up passengers at Terminals 1 and 3, only public transport and airport vehicles will be permitted, with others using the designated car parking spots or valet services.
