His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has inaugurated the fifth phase of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park.

The largest solar park in the world will supply 270,000 residences in Dubai with sustainable and clean energy, reducing carbon emissions by 1.18 million tonnes every year.

The park will be powered by solar energy, increasing the energy production in the city, and using artificial intelligence to maintain and increase the efficiency of the facility.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed said, "We continue to place sustainability at the heart of our development plans and make new strides in shaping a truly environmentally friendly economy. The completion of the fifth phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park takes us another major step closer to realising our vision for an economy fully powered by clean energy."

By 2050, 100% of the power in Dubai will be supplied through clean energy sources.
