The 'Most Noble Numbers' charity auction, held on Saturday, 8 April, raised a total of Dhs 97.96 million.
For Dhs 55 million, the world's most expensive number plate, P7, was sold, beating the previous record of Dhs 52.2 million.
The auction had 35 special numbers, including 14 special RTA vehicle plate numbers, 10 special du mobile numbers and 11 etisalat by e& Diamond+ mobile numbers.
The etisalat by e& Diamond+ number, 054-8888888, was sold for Dhs 2.3 million, while the Platinum mobile number from du, 058-3333333, was sold for Dhs 2 million.
All the proceeds raised from the charity auction go towards the '1 Billion Meals Endowment' campaign, launched during the Holy Month of Ramadan, to provide food to the less fortunate.
