His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), will carry out a series of Ramadan programmes in Syria, worth Dhs 20 million.

The ERC, along with the UAE embassy in Damascus, Syria and the Syrian Red Crescent, will help expand the project during Ramadan to help the people affected by the earthquakes.

As two earthquakes hit Turkey and Syria with a 7.8 and 7.6 magnitude on 6 February, the programme will help ensure the needs of the people will be met during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
