Updated Protocols For Schools And Universities

WAM

The National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) along with The Ministry of Education has announced the updated protocols for schools and universities.

The changes have already come into effect and will help in the safe return to normalcy for students.

All activities and events will now resume with parents allowed to attend.

Protocols like wearing face masks and using the green pass on the Al Hosn App must be followed.

School trips can be held with face masks worn at all times.

Vaccinated and unvaccinated staff and students can attend if they have a green pass on the Al Hosn App.

University students entering dorms need to get a PCR test done every month or use the green pass system.

The green pass will be mandatory for all educational facilities, including students aged 16 and above.

Students aged 16 years and below will have to get a PCR test once a month.

Gradual closure of educational facilities will be done based on the guidelines issued by local emergency and crisis committees in each emirate.

The educational facilities will be closed for three days if the infection rate exceeds 15% of the total attendance.

People coming in contact with a positive case do not need to quarantine and students with respiratory diseases can opt for distance learning.
