All inbound and outbound flights, including those of passengers in transit, will be suspended for two weeks.
A statement issued by the government news agency WAM said, "As part of precautionary measures to limit the spread of COVID-19, the National Emergency and Crisis and Disasters Management and the Civil Aviation Authority have decided to suspend all inbound and outbound passenger flights and the transit of airline passengers in the UAE for two weeks."
This is a further measure taken following Emirates announcement that most of its flights will be suspended from 25 March.
The decision, subject to re-assessment, will take effect in 48 hours.
Cargo and emergency evacuation flights are exempted from the new suspension.
