Friday witnessed a one off extravagant event where 70,000 participants of all ages and abilities descended around the Dubai World Trade Centre to take part in the very first Dubai Run on Sheikh Zayed Road.
Enthusiastic runners were led by none other than the biggest force behind the inception of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai.
Taking to his official Twitter account, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said ”Today marks a milestone in our mission to make Dubai the most active city in the world, as we witnessed more than 70,000 enthusiastic participants take up the run this morning. Thank you all”
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on Friday morning first posted his own picture with an empty Sheikh Zayed Road in the background, and later came the string of videos and images on his Instagram account @faz3, where we could see him leading the pack of over enthusiastic 70,000 runners, clicking moments with fellow runners, followed by a few aerial shots where the Sheikh Zayed Road ambiance would give goosebumps to anyone.
