A mega Diwali event on Thursday 24 October at Dubai Festival City Mall had a power packed surprise performance by members of Dubai Police that delighted all visitors to the mall.
The Dubai Police band members wearing their national dress played the Indian National Anthem for the start of Diwali celebrations.
Indian expats have praised the move that clearly reflects the UAE’s policy on tolerance and inclusivity.
Tens of thousands of festival revellers attended the cultural show and parade at the opening ceremony, organised under the patronage of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of Dubai Tourism, and the Indian Consulate in Dubai.
