After 5 weeks of continuous defence updates, the UAE Ministry of Defence said on Thursday, 9 April, that its air defence systems had not detected any ballistic missiles, cruise missiles or drones launched from Iran in recent hours. The ministry shared the update on its official social media channels, including X, in what appears to be the first such lull since the attacks began on 28 February.
Official figures released by the ministry show that, since the start of the attacks, the UAE has engaged 537 ballistic missiles, 26 cruise missiles and 2,256 UAVs.
The ministry said no new injuries or fatalities were recorded in recent hours, leaving the overall toll unchanged at 224 injuries. It said those injured are from a wide range of nationalities, including Emirati, Egyptian, Sudanese, Ethiopian, Filipino, Pakistani, Iranian, Indian, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan, Azerbaijani, Yemeni, Ugandan, Eritrean, Lebanese, Afghan, Bahraini, Comorian, Turkish, Iraqi, Nepalese, Nigerian, Omani, Jordanian, Palestinian, Ghanaian, Indonesian, Swedish, Tunisian, Moroccan and Russian nationalities.
The overall death toll remains two armed forces martyrs, one Moroccan civilian contractor working with the armed forces, and 10 civilians of Pakistani, Nepalese, Bangladeshi, Palestinian, Indian and Egyptian nationalities.
