Dubai is on a mission to be the world's best city for living, and aligning with this vision, Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), led by His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, has approved an updated strategic plan for 2024 - 2030. This plan aligns with Dubai's broader vision, including the Dubai Urban Plan 2040 and Dubai Plan 2030, to make Dubai the best city globally. It also complies with the directives of the Dubai Government and the UAE Government's vision, 'We the UAE 2031'.

Strategic Plan Focus

The updated strategic plan for 2024 - 2030 is dedicated to shaping a forward-looking future and implementing key projects that enhance Dubai's economic growth, well-being, and the happiness of residents and visitors. It prioritises staying in tune with global and future trends in roads and transport, reinforcing RTA's commitment to becoming a global leader in providing innovative services for diverse community segments.

Strategic Goals

RTA's strategic plan for 2024 - 2030 revolves around accomplishing five crucial goals related to integrated and innovative mobility.

- The emphasis is on developing roads and transport systems that contribute to the concept of a 20-minute city, where 80% of daily services are reachable within a 20-minute walk or cycle.

- The plan is centred on enhancing accessibility, promoting seamless integration of various transport modes, expanding existing and future mobility services, and implementing intelligent mobility solutions.

- In line with the Future-Proof organisation goal, the plan highlights the significance of attracting, retaining, and nurturing talents to meet future needs.

- It advocates for creating a robust partnership structure, enhancing research and development and innovation capabilities, becoming a leading data-driven entity, and building a flexible technological infrastructure.

RTA Keeps Sustainability At Centre

- RTA's strategic plan focuses on sustainability by accelerating the transition to zero-emission transportation methods.

- RTA has introduced its 'Zero-Emissions Public Transportation in Dubai 2050' strategy, marking it as the first Middle Eastern entity to create a long-term plan for transitioning to Net-Zero Emission Public Transport.

- RTA aims to transition 100% of taxis and limousines in the emirate to electric and hydrogen vehicles by 2040 and transform the entire fleet of public transport buses into electric and hydrogen buses by 2050. The plan sets a target to increase sustainable transportation to 42.5% by 2030.

Health And Safety Objectives

The plan's objectives in Health, Safety, and Security aim to enhance transportation safety, secure assets, ensure corporate security, and improve occupational health.

Regarding Customer Happiness, the plan emphasises the need to understand customer needs and trends, proactively create innovative services, and guide and motivate customer behaviour to maximise the intended benefits of transportation networks.
