Fines For Not Following Minimum Speed Limit

Abu Dhabi Police has announced that from 1 April, a new minimum speed limit will come into effect on Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Road, which begins from where Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road ends in Seih Shuaib, located on the Dubai - Abu Dhabi border.

The minimum speed limit has been set at 120km/h for the first two lanes from the left and a maximum speed of 140km/h.

Additionally, from 1 May, fines of Dhs 400 will be applicable to drivers that do not comply with the minimum speed limit on Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Road.

As the third lane is dedicated to heavy vehicles, the minimum speed limit fines will not be applicable.
